ANNAPOLIS,MD (February 12, 2010) – Two-time MLL Champions Jeff Zywickiand Nick O’Hara along with Jordan Levine were acquiredtoday from the Toronto Nationals in exchange for Kevin Huntley, JoshSims and 2 draft picks, according to Bayhawks General Manager SpencerFord.

“Weare very excited to again gain 3 players in a trade who can be part of the 19man roster right away,” said General Manager Spencer Ford. “Jeff Zywicki is a gamer, no matter what league he plays in; he alwaysputs himself at the top of the scoring leaders. He will help take our team to the nextlevel with his ability to score goals. Having Jeff, Danny Glading, Ben Rubeor,John Christmas and Andrew Combs makes us one of the best units in the game andwill cause match-up problems for the other teams.”

Zywicki,a 2005 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, has scored 87 goals in 39career games including back-to-back 31 goal seasons in 2007 and 2008. Last year he scored 19 goals and had 14 assists for the Nationals.  Inaddition to being a member of the last two MLL Championship teams, Zywicki wona Gold Medal as a member of Team Canada at the 2006 World Championships.

“JordanLevine is an unbelievable transition midfielder who can play D, run between thelines and score,” said Ford. “He will help us in a big way. Alongwith Matt Abbott, Benson Erwin, Billy Glading and Alex Buckley, we will be veryhard to beat from the midfield and they will again cause matchup problems whentransitioning the ball from D to O.”

Levineis entering his 3rd MLL season and will be joining his 3rdteam.  After completing his college career at Albany he was the 10thoverall pick in the 2008 collegiate draft by New Jersey and then played forToronto in 2009.  Levine has registered 24 points in 21 career MLL games(12 goals, 12 assists) including 7 goals in 10 games last year for Toronto.

“NickO'Hara can flat out play,” stated Ford. “He helps our defense inall aspects because of his ability to get the ball from one end to the other. He is very good at creating scoring opportunities after making a defensiveplay.”

O’Harawas a third round selection in the 2008 draft by Rochester after finishing uphis collegiate career at Duke University.

“Allin all, we are thrilled to have these 3 young men join the Bayhawks. They willbe huge in helping us get back to Championship Weekend,” said Ford.

TheBayhawks sent Kevin Huntley, Josh Sims a 2010 5th round CollegiateDraft pick, and a 2011 3rd round Collegiate Draft pick to Toronto.  Huntley, agraduate of Johns Hopkins University, was the 17th overall selectionin the 2008 Collegiate Draft and went on to win Cascade Rookie of the Yearhonors after registering 30 goals and 5 assists for Los Angeles.  Kevinwill join his father Dave Huntley, head coach of the Nationals.  Prior tothe 2009 season he was sent to Washington as part of the re-allocation process. He scored 23 goals and registered 6 assists in his second season.

Simsis one of four remaining players from the original 18 allocated players at theinception of the league prior to the 2001 season.  He spent his first 5MLL seasons with the Baltimore Bayhawks before joining Denver in 2006.  Hewas selected by Washington in December’s Supplemental Draft and now willbe heading to Toronto.  In 80 career games Sims has scored 116 goals (15two-point goals) and has registered 57 assists.  In 9 games last seasonwith Denver he had 11 goals and 9 assists helping lead the Outlaws to the MLLChampionship game where they fell to Toronto.

“LosingKevin Huntley is very hard for us; we think the world of him and thank him for allhe has done,” said Ford. “The kid is a gamer; we will always seehim as a 30 plus goal scorer year in and year out. I told Kevin the only way wewould let him go would be to give him and his father the opportunity to be partof the same organization. It’s not every day a person can say he or shewent to and excelled at the same university as their dad or playedinternationally, pro indoor and pro outdoor for their dad. The Huntleys willhave a great story for a long time to come and we wish them only the best.”

TheBayhawks open their season on May 15th at Navy-Marine Corps MemorialStadium when they take on the Long Island Lizards at 7 PM. Ticketinformation is available at www.thebayhawks.com
